Martha Brandt, LPC-S , SEP
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, supervisor, and educator with over 35 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and groups in a variety of therapeutic and educational settings.
I serve adults, couples, and parent/child pairs and tend to be a good fit with motivated folks who want to pursue mind-body-spirit health, deepen personal awareness, and foster relationship growth. I specialize in unraveling complex couples' dynamics, releasing and resolving childhood trauma and neglect, and providing experienced in-depth personal work for mental health clinicians and healing professionals.
I have studied and trained extensively with leading experts in newer experiential approaches to therapy based upon recent findings in neuroscience. I am an SE practitioner (Somatic Experiencing - Peter Levine), certified at the intermediate level in PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy - Stan Tatkin), and a certified provider and teaching assistant in DARe (Dynamic Attachment Repatterning Experience - Diane Poole-Heller).
I offer hands-on somatic interventions based on two modalities, both aimed at increasing nervous system regulation and coherence as indicated in the treatment of trauma. They are Transforming Touch (Stephen Terrell and Kathy Main) and Neuroaffective Touch (Aline Lapierre). Both approaches are practiced with clients fully clothed and can be adapted to intentional modes for use in virtual work.
